Considering 2018 came in a blink of an eye this year, the Waspy’s Truck Stop Audubon, Iowa location will be here before we know it. With plans for it opening late summer of 2018, there is still a lot that needs to be done. But, the progress of the truck stop has been phenomenal. Considering this location is much bigger than the Templeton, Iowa location, with a total of 16 acres, there are many amenities that this location will consist of. Follow us on the journey as the Waspy’s Audubon, Iowa location is built for you all to enjoy!
Waspy’s Audubon Amenities
The Waspy’s Audubon, Iowa location will have a convenience store that is larger than the Templeton location and will be open 24/7. There will be grab and go items, a cold case for a variety of homemade sandwiches and wraps, fresh pizza, broasted chicken, and a hot case for the daily specials. While there will not be a cafe, there will be a nice seating area for customers to use. On the south side of the truck stop (trucker entrance), there will be a trucker lounge, multiple showers, and a laundry area. This will be a private space for truckers to relax, watch television, do paperwork, etc.
Two Palms Grilling
Waspy’s Truck Stop purchased Two Palms Grilling, which means there will be a number of grilled smoked meats for weekend specials, holiday brunches, and continuous orders for whole prime rib, bone-in hams, pork loins, turkeys, ribs, etc. for the customers to enjoy.
Blue Grass Inn & Suites
At the truck stop hotel, there will be a total of 36 guest rooms that are all handicap accessible with two ADA rooms on the ground level. The hotel will also consist of an elevator, four King Suites, two Double Queen Suites, King and double Queen rooms for the remaining rooms, indoor swimming pool, hot tub, a party room that can be rented out for events with seating for approximately 50 people, and a hospitality area for a complimentary continental breakfast.
The Feed Mill Restaurant
The Feed Mill Restaurant will have seating for approximately 180 people and serve breakfast, lunch, and a variety of steaks, chops, seafood, salads, pasta, burgers, appetizers, etc. There will be a large buffet to serve Sunday brunches, night buffets and lunch buffets, including a salad bar. In addition, there will also be a full-service, horseshoe-shaped bar inside the restaurant. There will be a private conference room for business lunches or other events that can seat about 16 people, and there will also be an outdoor, shaded patio on the west side that will have TV’s for customers to enjoy.
The Truck Center will be located to the west by the big, dry dam and will be open 24/7. There will be a truck and trailer wash that includes four truck bays, two for livestock trailers, one for food-grade tankers, and one for other types of trailers and tankers. While trucks are being serviced, truckers will be able to eat, shower, and relax in the lounge on the south side of the convenience store. There will also be two bays designed for a variety of services from tires to rims in addition to tire repairs. Another large area in the truck center will be designated only for diesel services and repairs.
Multiple Fuel Options & Kerosene
The truck will have sixteen gas pumps, four diesel truck bays, and an outside bay for farm equipment and portable fuel barrels.
