Waspy’s owners, Doris and Lawrence “Waspy” Handlos, were the recipients of the first Live Large Award. This was presented by the Audubon Chamber of Commerce. The chamber’s annual dinner in February celebrated the community’s accomplishments during the previous year. Owner of Waspy’s Donated to New Regional Cancer Center

The Handlos family, owners of Waspy’s Truck Stops in Audubon and Templeton, recently donated $100,000 toward a new cancer treatment center in Carroll, Iowa. The donation was made to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for its planned $16.5 million regional cancer center.
